A note on how this site is made.
I have spent more than forty years working the lighting console, behind the camera and in editing suites, learning to see light and tell stories. That experience — and the perspective that comes with it — is the foundation of everything on this site.
I use AI tools, including ones like Claude by Anthropic, as part of my writing process. Think of it the way a writer might use an editor or a photographer might use Lightroom. The tool assists. The judgment, the voice, the point of view, and the real photography when present are for the most part, mine.
Specifically, AI Assists Me With
- Drafting and refining written content from my own notes, transcripts, and voice memos
- Researching topics to supplement my own field experience
- Organizing and structuring longer pieces
- Generating and refining images and visual concepts using AI image creation tools including Midjourney and similar platforms
AI does not replace my photography, my travel experiences, my opinions, or my storytelling instincts. Every post reflects where I have been, where I am planning to go, what I have seen, what I WANT to see, and what I actually think.
